This year, the Talisman is doing special features on 26 unique seniors throughout the school year to celebrate these past four years they’ve spent here. These students represent the different facets of the class of 2026 at Delaware Hayes.
Meet Chloe:
Q: What activities are you involved in at Hayes?
A: I run cross country and I’m also involved in Young Life.
Q: Do you have any commitments outside of school?
A: I would say Young Life could count as something outside of school because we meet at 8pm on Mondays and Wednesdays. Also, throughout the summer, we meet weekly and also go on a yearly trip to a Young Life camp somewhere out of state.
Q: How did you balance your schoolwork with your other commitments?
A: I always try to get my homework done as soon as I get home, so then I don’t have to worry about it for the rest of the day.
Q: What is your favorite memory from Hayes?
A: My favorite memory is definitely running cross country all four years with my best friends.
Q: What has been your favorite class at Hayes and why?
A: My favorite class at Hayes was definitely Child Development, I had to take a robot baby home for the weekend which was super fun. I even had to take my robot baby to Driver’s Ed that weekend.
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for future high schoolers?
A: Just be yourself [because] embarrassment is a choice, so don’t care what others think about you.
Q: What is one thing you’ll miss when you’re gone?
A: One thing I’ll miss is seeing my friends everyday.
Q: What are your plans for after high school and why?
A: My plans for after highschool is to hopefully go to Bowling Green State University and major in Elementary Education and minor in Psychology. I’ve wanted to become a teacher since second grade. After watching my mom and my grandpa teach, it really gave me the dream to become a teacher.
Good luck Chloe! We are looking forward to seeing what you will achieve in these next steps.
