The best places to see fall scenery

Andrew Bourget, Website Editor

1. Deer Haven Park

Deer Haven park is the best park to see fall scenery in Delaware County, with a wide variety of activities and areas. It’s adjacent to and shares walking paths with Havener Park. Together they have three miles of paths, a bird sanctuary, a prairie, wetlands and rivers. Besides the scenery, the park offers an informative visitor center and other ways for guests to learn.

2. Shale Hollow Park

Another great place to see fall scenery around Delaware is Shale Hollow Park, which offers a variety of things to see. It has views of a winding river which has natural spherical balls of shale, miles of walking paths and up to 40 foot tall cliffs that give nice views of the river.

Both parks winter visiting hours have already started and are from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., summer hours start in March. Deer Haven’s visitor center is open every day from noon to 5 p.m.
