This year, the Talisman is doing special features on 26 unique seniors throughout the school year to celebrate these past four years they’ve spent here. These students represent the different facets of the class of 2026 at Delaware Hayes.
Meet Aiden:
Q: What activities are you involved in at Hayes?
A: I am involved in football and track & field.
Q: Do you have any commitments outside of school?
A: I work at the YMCA as a Wellness Floor Attendant and I am a part of a student organization called HOSA at DACC.
Q: How did you balance your schoolwork with your other commitments?
A: It is hard to balance, but I cut down time with things like video games and hanging out with my friends so I can get everything done.
Q: What is your favorite memory from Hayes?
A: My favorite memory from Hayes was sophomore year house games. Participating in it with all of my friends and the seniors that year was awesome.
Q: What has been your favorite class at Hayes and why?
A: My favorite class at Hayes was Physical Science with Mr. Butts my freshman year. I had so many of my friends in that class. All we did was mess around and talk with Mr. Butts, but we still got our work done.
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for future high schoolers?
A: One piece of advice I can give to future high schoolers is to not lose yourself on the way [through school]. It is going to be hard… but trust me, it is worth it: Stay true to yourself.
Q: What is one thing you’ll miss when you’re gone?
A: One thing I will miss when I am gone is being forced to see my friends. I have to see them [every day], so it is really nice to know that no matter how busy I am or lack of free time to be with them, that I will see them the next day in fourth period.
Q: What are your plans for after high school and why?
A: My plan after high school is to go to The Ohio State University’s Marion Campus to take General Education (GE) and then transfer to the main campus so I can major in physical therapy. Going to Marion for my GE is cheaper, and I need to save as much money as I can. To become a physical therapist you need a DPT, or a Doctors of Physical Therapy, which requires seven years of schooling.
Good luck Aiden! We are looking forward to seeing what you will achieve in these next steps!
