This year, the Talisman is doing special features on 26 unique seniors throughout the school year to celebrate these past four years they’ve spent here. These students represent the different facets of the class of 2026 at Delaware Hayes.
Meet Delenn:
Q: What activities are you involved in at Hayes?
A: AFJROTC and cheerleading.
Q: Do you have any commitments outside of school?
A: Outside of school, I volunteer for a Sci-Fi organization with my family.
Q: How did you balance your schoolwork with your other commitments?
A: Everyday I come home and, while I cool down from school, I will eat before I go to cheer. Afterwards, I will have two hours to get my stuff ready for school the next day and to do any homework that I have, but I mostly get my homework done during school.
Q: What is your favorite memory from Hayes?
A: My favorite memory is my freshman year House Games day, it was just so different than any other event I’ve been to.
Q: What has been your favorite class at Hayes and why?
A: My all time favorite class is AFJROTC, because it is a great environment and experience; I have learn[ed] so much, and this class has helped me learn so much about being in charge and how to be disciplined.
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for future high schoolers?
A: Make the best out of your high school experience, capture the moments and get involved.
Q: What is one thing you’ll miss when you’re gone?
A: One thing I will miss are the teachers.
Q: What are your plans for after high school and why?
A: My plan is to go to Mount Carmel College of Nursing and get my RN there, and then hopefully go and work at Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
Good luck Delenn! We are looking forward to seeing what you will achieve in these next steps.
