Hayes gymnastics team finishes season

On February 24,  The Hayes gymnastics team finished their season. Their last meet was the District competition in which 38 other schools competed.

Senior Jeorga Torturice completes a split leap in her floor routine. This will be her fourth year competing on the high school team.

Sophomore Maddi Francisco ends her uneven bars routine with a flyaway off of the bar. Maddi was one of the few to compete in all four events.

Francisco twists off the vault while coach Heather Besselman waits to congratulate her. This kill landed her an 8.00.

Freshman team member Emma Thomas flashes her teammates’ scores to the audience. Judges are hard at work calculating the gymnasts scores with little time to show them as well. Team members often help out by doing it for them.

Freshman Katlyn Zimmers salutes the judges after completing her turn on vault. Zimmers ended the night with a 27.500 All Around score.
